I honestly can't remember the time I completed my first set of ascended armor and now I am sitting with like 20 characters with one or more sets of asc armor. I have my 3 sets of PvE legy armor but I am too lazy to adjust every build and get rid of the asc armor so I just stick with them and build all new builds with legy armor.
For exotic search the trading post for zhed, nika or devona (for light, medium, heavy armor respectively). They are super cheap. U can buy exotic berserkers from cathedral of silence for karma. You can buy exotic armor with Dungeon tokens if you are limited to the core game. If you have HoT (Verdant Brink), the bladed armor is very easy to get
Alternatively to buying you can craft the exotic armor yourself which will save you some gold and then salvage for the research. Again, this is NOT the cheapest way but it is a very fast way especially if you don't have excess ascended to salvage. I have 16,000 research notes doing it this way. 0. The_Food_One.
With those 3 maps alone you have all the trinkets and back pack and underwater helmet (you can even ditch Bloodstone Fen, albeit its ascended items are extremely conveninet). After those, the best two are Dragonfall (amulet, ring, ear ring) and Sanswept Isles (ring, ear ring); Dragonfall main event is hugely profitable, but requires all mounts
You can slot runes and infusions on ascended. You are 100% correct. I just looked at one of my older character from a few years ago, he has ascended gear with runes stupid me. Posted August 26, 2021 (edited) +Stat agony infusions tend to be extremely overpriced and not worth it when gearing up.
Well you can but it will lose its precuror function. You can change its appearance via the wardrobe function if desired, which I would advise against given the higher chance to misplace the item or mistake it for a regular ascended. You can freely use either weapon in a build or loadout.
Just craft some random stat then buy berserker insignia and change the armor stat to berserker in mystic forge. Cheaper than crafting it directly. So much this. You can craft any ascended gear and just stat swap it. Works out a lot cheaper.
